Bit Interleaved Transmission with Turbo Demodulation:
In a bit-interleaved scheme an information sequence is encoded by a convolutional code, the output bits
are interleaved and grouped together in symbols which are mapped into a signal constellation. We showed
how to optimize the performance of iterative demodulation by designing optimal labelings for practical
signal constellations (it turns out that one should not choose the Gray labeling) [1,2,3].
